Creative, wife, dog mom, and homebody.
Growing up, I always dreamed of being an elementary art teacher. I love learning, being part of a community, and getting creative with spacial design (hello, classroom arrangements!) and curriculum writing. During my student teaching, I realized I really connected with one-on-one and small group instruction, which led me to a brief internship with a school guidance counselor. That experience got me thinking, and I decided to shift gears and go to graduate school for a Masters in Social Work.
While in grad school, I dived into hands-on learning through various internships. I started in a school setting to see if that childhood dream was still a fit for me. In my last year, I wanted to explore the medical side of social work since it had caught my interest from my own experiences. That’s when I found my groove at a large metro hospital, kicking off my social work career.
Over the years, I’ve worked in diverse healthcare environments, collaborating with individuals and families on community re-entry, specialized care, and resource access. It’s here that I saw how teaching and healing really come together. I also gained insight into therapy from both my education and my own experiences with individual and couples therapy. This journey inspired me to create my own practice, Sunday Therapy, which is all about attunement, acceptance, and authenticity. I’m so glad you’re here!
In my practice, I continue to learn, grow, and share. I commit myself to over a hundred hours of training each year to make sure I’m offering you the best care possible and aligning with my own values in healing. I want our time together to be tailored to your unique needs and goals, while also staying up-to-date with the latest research, models of thought, and techniques.
While I don’t work with kids directly in therapy, I do love connecting with the inner child in all of us.
If this sounds like what you’re looking for, I’d love to chat and see how we may work together!
What people say about their experience with me.
What am I learning right now?
Right now, I’m actively training in Somatic Experiencing (SE) a three-year intensive program for healing trauma and stress stored in the nervous system aiming to resolve dysregulation or patterns of fight, flight, freeze through naturalistic body-oriented intervention. I’m also spending time with Inner Relationship Focusing and completing certification in EMDR. As you’d like, you can also find information on my other areas of specialization, including: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Transforming The Experience-Based Brain (TEB), and Healing Our Core Issues (HOCI) by clicking on each one or head on over to the Specialities page.
Who comes to see me?
As a curious-minded, creative healing practitioner, I have the honor of connecting with people who are also accepting, open, dynamic, multi-sensory, and interested in cultivating a deeper sense of Self to improve their relationships and live a vibrant life. Musicians, artists, creatives, full-time parents, entrepreneurs, animal-lovers, and everyone in between find their way to me. I believe that people are welcome to change their mind and redirect their path any time they’d like and the people who find me also seem to believe something similar for themselves. I’m passionate about working with individuals and couples who are ready to shift their mind for the better.
How I approach the therapeutic relationship.
Stepping into therapy is a courageous and vulnerable choice, and I want you to know that it’s an experience filled with possibility. You may find that some things you hoped to change stay the same, while others you wished would remain unchanged may shift. That’s part of the healing process, and I’m here to walk with you through it.
As your therapist, I wholeheartedly believe in the power of growth and lifelong learning. I promise to bring my experience and knowledge to our sessions, as I’ve personally and professionally benefited from the very approaches I offer you. Each model of thought has played a metamorphosing role in my life, and I’m honored to witness the experience in others as well.
I view our therapeutic relationship as a meaningful partnership, one that can extend well beyond our time together. In our early sessions, we’ll explore your current experiences, discuss your support network, and delve into resourcing and regulation practices. This foundational work is vital, and we’ll take the time to build a trusting bedrock.
Your care will be comprehensive, drawing from a variety of trauma-informed techniques. Together, we may explore the Healing Our Core Issues (HOCI) framework, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and somatic practices such as Somatic Experiencing (SE)™ and Transforming the Experience-based Brain (TEB)®. Rest assured, you’ll always have a say in the direction we take, ensuring that your preferences and boundaries are respected - this, too, is paramount in your healing of Self.
Our work together will evolve at a pace that feels right for you, fostering trust and security in our therapeutic alliance. This partnership will lift you to tune into your own needs, promoting self-determination and helping you embody the wise, capable person you envision yourself - and know yourself - to be.
To create a strong foundation for our work, I recommend committing to weekly or bi-weekly sessions for at least the first three months. This consistency will enhance your experience and allow us to build a supportive relationship together. Many people find that they enjoy weekly or bi-weekly sessions long-term for consistency while others come to prefer monthly, bi-monthly, yearly, or as needed visits.
I’m truly honored that you’re here and to be part of your team in healing is something I hold with tremendous care. I look forward to walking alongside you as we explore what happens next.
