In my practice, I recognize that life can bring challenges that affect us not just emotionally, but also physically. Somatic Experiencing (SE)™ is a gentle, body-based therapy designed to help you address the impacts of stress, shock, and trauma that may be stored in your body and nervous system. This approach has been found to be particularly beneficial for those dealing with PTSD, complex developmental trauma, or relational trauma.
Trauma is a part of the human experience—it's something we all encounter in different forms. What’s important is how we navigate those experiences recognizing that we have supportive options for relief. Somatic Experiencing (SE)™ provides a framework to help you move beyond retained patterns of fight, flight, and freeze. By working with the sensations in your body, SE™ empowers you to release the energy that may be trapped from past overwhelming experiences, fostering resilience and ease in your daily rhythm.
As stated by Somatic Experiencing International, this approach facilitates the completion of these responses and the release of bound survival energy. By addressing the root causes of your trauma symptoms, we can work towards restoring balance and harmony in your life. Life is not meant for merely surviving, life is meant for a vibrant dynamic experience.
In our sessions, together we’ll create a connected and nurturing space where you can tune into your nervous system and your felt sense. Together, we’ll welcome whatever arises, guiding you gently through your unique healing process. As you learn to listen to your body, you’ll naturally develop a greater tolerance for difficult sensations and expression of suppressed emotions. This can be a subtle and expansive journey, helping you complete the self-protective responses that may have been interrupted in the past.

You will be offered guidance and resources throughout sessions to support in you developing a relationship with your body, sensations, emotions, memories, and meanings.

Yes, SE™ is available through virtual sessions as well as in-person care.

Learning regulation strategies is one of many benefits of incorporating body-based therapy models into traditional talk therapy. Yes, it is likely that you will develop skills to use outside of session that will benefit you well beyond the therapy session.

I am a Somatic Experience (SE)™ student actively attending the Somatic Experiencing Professional Training Program, seeking to complete the educational and related requirements of the program to use the Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner (SEP) credential. On path to complete in 2026.
